Welcome to Sara's Gallery

Sara was an artist all her life. She grew up surrounded by art and artists. She never tired of trying new ideas...mixing medias...adding her own unique style to everything she created.

Sara spent her life creating. Painting signs, watercolors, pen and ink, sculpting with clay and found objects, and glass blowing. Sara loved "building" art. She also crocheted, decorated rooms and yards.

Sara learned glass blowing from Mom and earned a scholarship to the Dale Chihuly Pilchuck Glass Blowing Academy in Washington. She won many prizes for her art in Alaska, California and Ohio, and had one man shows in Juneau and Ohio.

There was rarely a day Sara did not express herself through her art. A pen and a napkin would do. She gave away more than she sold. Her art is treasured by those who own them.

Thank you to all the friends who've allowed me to scan Sara's work for this online gallery. I have given my own names to a lot of the pieces included as I didn't know what Sara called them. I will keep adding art so keep checking back. If you have any work or stories you'd like to send please write me at melissa@stonesthrow.info.
