Paula Wright

I am Paula M. Wright, artist and lover of the wild things of Alaska. When I moved to Alaska my wild flower paintings became my subjects from this newly adopted landscape. For over twenty years I have taught myself how to depict the flowers with depth and the softness of an illustration type art using oils.

I paint for fun and attempt to keep my work original.

Shows: I have shown my art in shows and galleries in Galveston, Houston, Phoenix, New Orleans and Juneau.

I have also participated in the KTOO Art Exhibit, Bartlett Hospital Bazaar, Eaglecrest Blueberry Festival, and other charitable craft shows and bazaars.

Artist Quote:
I find that a lot of Alaskans are berry people.
They like the Blue Berries, Huckleberry, Bearberries, Salmonberry (a cousin of the Thimbleberry), Booseberry also known as the Squashberry (from the Cranberry family), and many more. The Alaskan Natives used these berries for many things in addition to cooking with them. Now I try to present them in my paintings as the gifts of nature that they are.
